Good to know
Can I install it as an app?
Yes, and it works offline once installed. Tap Install app at the top of any page for steps for your device. In short:
- iPhone or iPad: in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android: in Chrome, tap the menu ⋮, then Install app.
- Computer: in Chrome or Edge, click the install icon at the right of the address bar.
Why not just log in with Instagram?
Instagram doesn’t offer a safe way for outside apps to read your follower list. Apps that ask for your password log in as you, which breaks Instagram’s rules and often triggers security locks. The export is Instagram’s official way to give you your own data.
How does “Unfollowed you” work?
Each time you load an export, Followback can save just the list of follower usernames in this browser. Next time you load a newer export, it shows who disappeared. Untick “Save the follower list” to skip this, or use “Forget everything” on the checker to wipe it.
Someone shows up as not following back, but they do.
The export is a snapshot from the moment you requested it. Accounts that were deactivated, or follows that changed after you asked for the file, can be out of date. Request a fresh export for the latest picture.
Instagram gave me HTML instead of JSON.
That works too. Drop the zip as it is, or add followers_1.html and following.html. JSON is still the most reliable choice.
Can I unfollow people from here?
No. Followback can’t touch your account. Tap a username to open the profile in Instagram, unfollow there, then mark it here so you can keep track.
What does Pro add?

Does it work without internet?
Yes, once you’ve opened the site once. Install it from your browser’s menu (“Add to Home Screen” on iPhone) to use it like an app.
