Step by step
Get your followers file from Accounts Center
Instagram lets anyone download their own data. You only need the “Followers and following” part, which keeps the file small and usually arrives within minutes. Bigger exports can take up to a couple of days.
- Open your profile and tap the menu ☰ in the top corner.
- Tap Accounts Center, then Your information and permissions.
- Tap Export your information (some accounts call it Download your information), then Create export.
- Pick your Instagram profile, then choose Export to device.
- Tap Customize information, clear everything, and tick only Followers and following under Connections.
- Set Date range to All time and Format to JSON. The format sometimes defaults to HTML, so check it.
- Tap Start export. Instagram emails you and sends a notification when it’s ready.
- Go back to Export your information, tap Download, and enter your password on Instagram’s own screen.
- Open Check followers and drop in the .zip. You don’t need to unzip it.
- Sign in on accountscenter.instagram.com. This is Instagram’s own site; Followback never sees it.
- Under Your information and permissions, choose Export your information, then Create export.
- Pick your Instagram profile, then Export to device.
- Under Customize information, tick only Followers and following.
- Set Date range to All time and Format to JSON, then Start export.
- When the email arrives, return to the same page and click Download.
- Open Check followers and drag in the .zip. If you already unzipped it, open
connections/followers_and_following/and addfollowers_1.jsonandfollowing.json(plusfollowers_2.jsonand so on, if you have them).
