Terms of use

Last updated: 15 October 2026. These terms describe how Followback works; they are not legal advice and may need changes for the laws that apply to your business.

1. The service

Followback is an independent tool that compares information from an Instagram data export you choose to provide. It does not require your Instagram password and does not connect to or control your Instagram account. Results depend on the contents and date of the export and may be incomplete or out of date. Followback is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.

2. Your responsibilities

Use Followback only with data you are entitled to access and for lawful purposes. You are responsible for keeping your device and browser secure and for deciding what actions, if any, to take based on the results. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt to disrupt its infrastructure, or resell or publicly share your Pro license key.

3. Free access and Pro subscription

Some features are available free of charge. Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription through Gumroad. The price and billing interval shown at checkout apply to your purchase. Unless the checkout states otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

You can cancel using the subscription-management link in your Gumroad receipt or account. Cancellation stops future renewals; access generally continues until the end of the current paid period. Refunds are handled under Gumroad’s applicable terms and any non-waivable rights you have under applicable law.

4. License and devices

A Pro license is for your personal use on up to the number of devices stated at checkout. History and saved exports remain separate on each device and are not synced to Followback’s servers. License activation requires an internet connection. Followback may reject or deactivate a key if Gumroad reports that the purchase is invalid, refunded, disputed, charged back, or no longer active, or if the key exceeds its activation limit.

5. Availability and changes

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every export format, or that Instagram will keep its export format unchanged. We will not remove rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

6. Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Followback is provided “as is” and “as available”, without guarantees that results will be complete, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose. You decide how to use the results and are responsible for actions taken on your Instagram account. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top indicates when this page was last updated. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
